Welcome to The Old School at Stoke Climsland

The Old School is a community resource centre in the parish of Stoke Climsland, near Callington in East Cornwall. It was acquired in the late 1990s when a new village primary school was built and, for more than 20 years it has provided a facility that can be used by people living in Stoke Climsland and the surrounding area.

This is an area of great interest and great beauty. The parish borders the River Tamar and was one of the great mining centres of Cornwall. Part of the parish lies within the Devon and Cornwall Mining World Heritage Site and also within the Tamar Valley Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. It is roughly midway between Cornwall's north and south coasts and is a large rural parish with a small population. To the north is Launceston, once Cornwall's capital and to the south is Plymouth.

The Old School welcomes visitors from a wide area and you can easily contact us.

During the Covid pandemic there was a very reduced programme of activities at The Old School. Over the last year the programme has been steadily extended so that most of our activities and services are now fully functioning and there are several new activities and services on offer.
