FOOD FOR THOUGHT

Food for Thought is a series of occasional events that are designed to stimulate discussion of issues of general interest. The illustration here shows the panel at a hustings held before 2016 vote on EU membership and similar events  have been held for other elections; one of these attracted an audience of over 100.

There have been presentations about the situation of the Palestinian people in Israel and about refugees in Latin America. One well-attended evening around Easter-time was given over to a mock trial of Judas Iscariot, with the vicar acting as judge and the audience as jury.

Some of the Food for Thought events have been accompanied by a suitably themed meal while others have simply been served by the bar.

This is a series that picks up on current issues as and when the occasion arises. It complements some other talks and drama events arranged within the parish by various organisations and not necessarily held at The Old School.
